We will be planting the last little patch of the wetland, the final link to connect the cockle beds/mangrove/oioi to the raupo swamp/ podocarp and Kauri forest above.
Come see how the wetland has totally transformed from a paddock to a swamp forest with ponds (see photos below).
What: Planting Day Planting 1800 trees, shrubs & stream side plants in the wetland.
When: Sunday, 30 April (09:30am) (if arriving later walk along the track 200m)
Where: 717 Rawhiti Road, Cape Brett Peninsula – The flood plain at the start of the Whangamumu track
Why: 1800 plants to be planted on the hillside.
Please Bring: sharp spade, gumboots, gardening gloves, raincoat, sunhat, water and picnic lunch.
Parking: along the roadside.
